The Philippine Loop
A few years ago, I included this activity on my bucket list. Driving is a passion of mine, as it provides me with a sense of liberation, particularly when it comes to lengthy journeys. This particular route is the most extended one I have ever driven, and it will be a cherished memory for me, particularly because my son and I undertook this adventure together.
The nation of the Philippines is made up of 7,100 islands, with Mindanao situated in the southern region, the Visayas in the middle, and Luzon located in the northern part. During our journey, we traversed through all three significant island clusters, covering a distance of over 4,000 kilometers and crossing six ferries. We lodged in various types of accommodations, ranging from hotels to humble traveler's inns. Our meals were taken in diverse dining establishments, including restaurants, fast-food chains, and local food stalls known as karenderia.
This road trip has been a long-awaited adventure, as I had been planning it for quite some time. Within this blog, I aim to provide a few highlights, tips, and advice that could be beneficial if you are planning to embark on a similar journey.
